It was a busy night at Adolph’s, the legendary gathering place for the ski racing world in Park City. Atomic’s table had grown from six to 20 as revelers came together to toast Daron Rahlves.
“Oh, we are going to have a party tonight,” said Adolph with that trademark pensive look on his staid Swiss face. The veteran restaurateur was nervous as he left the kitchen to rearrange his dining room. But underlying that nervousness was this heartfelt joy of being the centerpiece of ski racing in the world.
Swiss-native Adoph Imboden made the tough decision this month to close the doors after 47 years – the longest-standing fine dining restaurant in Park City. With his lease ending and an extension too complex, the 78-year old chef decided it was time. He’ll slide the last schnitzel onto a plate at the end of April.

I’m back in my favourite corner of Switzerland: the Berner Oberland. When I arrived, it occurred to me that I’d already ridden the lifts and hiked all the trails in the area. But there was one experience that I had yet to do: traverse the cliffside cableway called the via ferrata. This morning, Simon and I pulled on mountaineering harnesses and clipped our carabiners onto the first stretch of a nearly two-mile-long cable, setting off with a local guide on the “iron way” from Mürren to Gimmelwald.

Vocalist Dara Tucker has always led with her heart, and has yet to be led astray.
After studying German in college, it was her heart that led her to move to Interlaken, Switzerland. It was here that she was inspired to first start writing songs. After hearing Wynonna Judd on television talking about how the world needs better songwriters, she decided to move to Nashville, Tenn. The stars were certainly aligned for her, because she started to make a name for herself on the music scene rather quickly.
